Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) is a complex and complete holistic system of medicine used to
bring the body into balance and prevent disease with few adverse side effects.
The therapies used in TCM include medicinal herbs, acupuncture and moxibustion,
tuina (Chinese therapeutic massage), cupping, nutritional and lifestyle counselling, qi gong
meditation and therapeutic exercise.
The goal of a TCM practitioner is to identify and bring into balance patterns of disharmony within the body-mind. They do this by assessing the constitution of the patient while considering their physiological,
psychological, and emotional well being, as well as their unique relationship to their environment.
